My First Fantasy Football Draft

27 Aug

You may have noticed I was missing in action yesterday. My absence was in part because of recovering from a night of drunk debauchery but also because I was preparing for my first ever Fantasy Football Draft. Like any good student I had waited till the last-minute to study. A guy friend, who has mastered fantasy gave me this advice:

1. Draft Philadelphia Eagles’ running back LeSean McCoy first. I was pick number 4, McCoy went as number 2 in our draft. So¬† I failed at that one.

2. Make sure to get the San Francisco 49ers as your Defense Strategy. It took me about half-way through the draft to figure out how to pick at team for defense strategy so I failed at one and evened up with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

3. Whatever you do don’t draft Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo. Okay this one I definitely didn’t do. I instead went with Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Michael Vick.

My grade so far would definitely be an C.

Nick Fairley Busted

27 May

Nick Fairley a defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions was arrested Sunday for DUI and running from eluding the police in Alabama. The police caught him going over 100 mph through a neighborhood in his Cadillac Escalade. This is Fairley second arrest, he was arrested before for pot possession. Fairley barely played his rookie year with the Lions due to a foot injury but I guess he is still enjoying his paycheck. You gotta love Memorial Day Weekend, it’s like mugshot season.

Stanton Wants Out

22 Mar

As I predicted Drew Stanton the former back-up Jets QB wants out since the team signed Tim Tebow. Just last Friday things were looking up for Stanton, who signed a contract with the Jets for $1.5 million with a $500,000 signing bonus. Then the Jets dropped him like a rock the second Tebow became available. It is amazing how Peyton Manning’s decision has snowballed to affect so many other people. The problem now is that Stanton is going to have trouble finding a new team since most of the slots have been filled. Stanton also turned down other offers to go with the Jets. Poor Stanton he thought he was moving from the Lion’s number 3 to the Jet’s number 2.
