The Reality Show I Can’t Wait For

14 Aug

We all know how much everyone loves or loves to hate on swimmer Ryan Lochte. As it turns out that is the perfect combination needed for a reality star. For evidence consider how many Kardashian love/haters there are in the world. Lochte has been offered to star in three different reality shows. Although nothing is confirmed I can only hope that his mother is a major part of the show. Any mom who is willing to openly express her son’s love for a one-night stand is perfect for reality stardom.

Lochte has already expressed his willingness to go on “Dancing with the Stars”. Michael Phelps has also expressed interested in the show. Leaving the media to salivate over the idea of another Phelps/Lochte showdown. While Phelps has all the time in the world to work on reality television Lochte is still training for the Olympics in Rio 2016. So I can only imagine any show about Lochte’s life is going to involve a lot of time in the pool. Lochte needs to keep swimming to keep his sponsors happy. Fortune Magazine estimates that Lochte will be making $2.3 million in endorsements this year.

But with Lochte incredible hotness . . . I think I could watch him do almost anything well except for peeing in the pool. This is just nasty.

But She Was So Adorable

4 Jun

Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson is retiring at the ripe old age of 20. In 2008 Johnson won 4 medals in Beijing including one gold for the balance beam. Then she took a hiatus from gymnast to focus on being a celebrity. She won the show “Dancing with the Stars.” Johnson was inspired to compete again after a skiing accident blew out her knee. Although she recovered some Johnson has decided to retire because her knee injury is just too serious. That’s a serious bummer. I’m sure they will miss her smile in London this summer.

Ward is Back . . . On TV

1 Jun

It was just March 14 that Hines Ward retired from dancing the Pittsburgh Steelers. Everyone was very sad to see him go. Now it seems he will be back in the football world. This time he will be analyst for NBC Sports. You can catch him on NBC’s Football Night In America on Sundays and NBC Sports Network’s college football studio show on Saturdays.

Hines Ward Retires

20 Mar

So while one old man(36 years) Peyton Manning is getting $96 million to play for another five years with the Broncos, another old man wide receiver Hines Ward (also 36) is retiring after 14 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. If you don’t watch football you will surely recognize Hines as the winner of last years “Dancing with the Stars.” The Steelers decided to release Hines earlier this year in favor of new blood. Hines had a not so stellar season. Plus the Steelers really need the $4 million Hines would have gotten to help with salary cap issues. Instead of spiraling down the NFL rooster Hines decided to retire.

Steelers president Art Rooney II (aka. grandfather to Kate and Mara Rooney) seemed genuinely sad to say goodbye to Hines. I mean you can’t ask for more out of player than 14 years, 3 AFC Championships, one “Dancing with the Stars” win and 2 Super Bowl wins. If I were Rooney I would give Hines a job with the team, not that he really needs to work.
